Florence Fu 傅曦瑶 is a writer, researcher, and designer from New York, currently based in Tokyo. Her research interests revolve around Japanese contemporary society, graphic design, typography, and visual culture.
From 2022 to 2023, she was a Toshizo Watanabe Fellow at the Inter-University Center for Japanese Language Studies, with additional support from the Ito Foundation. She holds a MA in Humanities from the University of Chicago, and a BA in Art History and a BS in Journalism from Northwestern University. In 2019, she completed Type West and designed Ginza. She has contributed to Letterform Archive, Sharp Type Co. AIGA Eye on Design, and Communication Arts.
